The Making of the Brand: University Baptist Church
At Parklife, we’re lucky to work with a variety of impactful, mission-driven organizations. One recent example is our rebrand for University Baptist Church (UBC) in Chapel Hill. When we began, we knew UBC wanted their new brand to reflect the spirit and mission that have defined them for decades: a church that lives with open arms, thoughtful faith, and a heart for every corner of Chapel Hill.
Translating Mission Into Brand
As we got to know the team at UBC, we were struck by how deeply they live their calling. Their commitment to welcoming all people, embracing sacred questions, and walking in the way of love and service came through in everything they said and did. From our earliest conversations, it was clear this was a church grounded in compassion and humility. Our job was to make sure their visual identity and messaging captured that.
“Our goal was to reflect UBC’s genuine presence in the community and its radical welcome in a way that felt both modern and timeless,” said Brian Castle, Parklife’s Founder and CEO. “We wanted people to immediately feel the warmth and integrity that define who they are.”
The Heart of Chapel Hill–Literally
UBC is located at the heart of Chapel Hill, just steps from the University of North Carolina. The Parklife design team created a logo featuring a heart coming from the bottom corner, representing their spiritual role in the community. The color palette remains true to their roots, featuring Carolina blue as a nod to their local pride, complemented by green accents for individuality.
A Brand to Match the Mission
In addition to the brand identity, we created a new website and fresh collateral to bring the new brand to life across platforms. From Sunday service invitations to one-pagers and social media assets, every piece reflects the same spirit: a church that welcomes, wonders, and walks forward in love.
We’re proud to have helped build a brand that mirrors the faith, openness, and joy that UBC brings to Chapel Hill. It’s the kind of work we love most: helping nonprofits tell their story with clarity and heart.
