Client Spotlight: Binkley Baptist Church
Standing in Equality–From Day One
Binkley Baptist Church in Chapel Hill, North Carolina is a bold, compassionate, justice-driven congregation that is committed to welcoming everybody through its doors. For nearly seven decades, Binkley has been a spiritual home for activists, advocates, peacemakers, and neighbors who believe faith is something expressed through action.
Recently, the team at Parklife was honored to continue our partnership with Binkley by supporting their new campaign: an invitation to the community grounded in love, equity, and radical inclusion.
A Campaign Rooted in Identity, Action, and Legacy
The team at Binkley wanted to articulate something central to who they are–a church where inclusion is a decades-long, deeply held conviction. They sought a message that captured the heart of an activist congregation while still embodying their commitment to peace, compassion, and community.
We worked together to create a comprehensive campaign that included a new landing page, social media assets, emails, and supporting content.
Across their history, Binkley has taken many courageous stands:
Racial justice: From supporting civil rights leadership to standing publicly with Black Lives Matter.
LGBTQ+ affirmation: By licensing LGBTQ+ ministers in the early 1990s and being a “Welcoming and Affirming” congregation today.
Women’s equality: From their founding pastor’s commitment to equal roles in the church to today’s advocacy for reproductive rights.
Creation care: From early green committees to today’s robust Earth Ministry.
Support for immigrants, refugees, and the incarcerated: Continuing a long legacy of embracing the marginalized.
Binkley’s message is simple but powerful: “This is a place where everyone belongs—and where belonging comes with action.”
Rebranding a Church That Refuses to Stand Still
Beyond the recent campaign, we’re currently partnering with Binkley on a broader brand refresh, including a new logo, updated colors, and a visual identity that reflects who they are today: vibrant, engaged, grounded, and joyfully rebellious in the best possible way.
As our founder Brian Castle put it, “Capturing Binkley’s identity has been a joy for our team. This is a community always looking for the next fight worth fighting—always ready to defend, uplift, and stand beside those who need it most. Their courage makes our work feel meaningful.”
This new brand will help Binkley continue telling its story, honoring the past while building a future rooted in justice, community, and unconditional love.
