Shaking Up Your Social Media Presence
Is your company’s online presence in a rut? I’ve got you covered! Here are some simple ways to give your social media a boost.
An excellent way to add some variety to your social media accounts is to add humor when appropriate. For some businesses, such as funeral homes, certain non-profits, and large corporate offices, breaking out the jokes might not be a great idea. However, if your brand lends itself to a lighthearted tone, you should start posting:
Memes and GIFs
Silly commentary about current events
Funny responses to customer comments
Posts about relatable situations
If you’re looking for some inspiration, check out this article from Hubspot. Large companies, such as Taco Bell, Skittles, Old Spice, and JetBlue, have been making comedy work in their favor for years, and it really helps to set them apart from the crowd.
Target Smaller Groups
Depending on the type of company you run, your primary customer group might be small business owners, young adults and children, the elderly, or large corporations. I’m betting that most, if not all, of your social media posts have been specifically targeted towards your largest group of customers. If you’re looking for a way to mix up your online presence and drive more engagement, you should create posts that appeal to the small groups that you serve. For example, your business might primarily receive customers that are middle-aged. However, you also encounter a fair amount of teenagers that are interested in using your products and/or services. You can lean into this smaller market and start creating youthful content that will encourage teenagers to increase their spending at your shop.
Create Quote Graphics
One of the easiest ways to spice up your social media is to incorporate some inspirational quote graphics. You can do a quick internet search for “inspirational quotes” and it will generate millions of results. The website Brainy Quote is a great place to start looking for quotes that spark your interest. You don’t need to have a graphic design background, either: once you’ve found a quote that you like and think will work well for your brand, you can use simple design software to create a visual. Here are some platforms you can use: BeFunky, Crello, Canva, Snappa, and Figma. These websites offer thousands of templates where you can simply plug in your quote and customize the colors. When you’re finished creating your graphic, you can post it to your social media with a few hashtags, such as #MotivationalQuote and #Inspiration, to drive engagement.
